Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastian Haller has been diagnosed with a testicular tumour.
A statement from the German club on Monday revealed the player’s illness after feeling unwell during their pre-season training camp in Switzerland.
A tumour was discovered on the 28-year-old’s testicles and he returned home to Dortmund, where he will undergo specialist treatment in the coming days.
Borussia sporting director Sebastian Kehl told the club website: “This news today came as a shock to Sebastien Haller and to all of us.

Ivory Coast international Haller began his career with Auxerre and was signed by West Ham in a £45million deal from Eintracth Frankfurt in 2019.
After 18 months in east London, he joined Ajax and earlier this month signed for Dortmund in a deal worth £28m.
