Police are continuing to appeal for the public's help in finding missing Hamilton man Jamie Reid after he was spotted at a soup kitchen the day after his disappearance.
The 44-year-old was last seen in Eaglesham Road, East Kilbride, reportedly near to Hairmyres Hospital, at around 11pm on Saturday, June, 24, however is from the Burnbank area of Hamilton and has extensive links within the town.
A credible sighting of Jamie has been reported from the soup kitchen on Beckford Street in Hamilton during the evening of Sunday, June 25, but he has not been seen since.
Jamie is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, with blue eyes and short grey hair. He always wears a baseball hat and is believed to have been wearing a dark coloured jacket and possibly long trousers/jogging bottoms when visiting the soup kitchen.
His disappearance has been described by his "worried" family as "very out of character".
Inspector Gail Nicol from Hamilton Police Station said: “We know that after leaving the East Kilbride area on the evening of Saturday, June 24, Jamie has travelled back to Hamilton and was seen in the soup kitchen the following day.
“We’re keen to understand his movements from here as efforts continue to locate him. He requires weekly medication which he does not have access to and it is out of character for him not be in contact with anyone for this length of time.
“I’d ask anyone who may have seen Jamie, or a man matching his description, to report this to officer as soon as possible so we can investigate.”
Those with information should contact 101 and quote incident number 2469 of 30 June.
