Missing Sunderland pensioner William Lee, 75, has been found

A Sunderland pensioner who went missing overnight has now been found.

Northumbria Police launched their appeal after William Lee, 75, went missing from Bleasdale Crescent, Penshaw. According to officers, he was last seen since around 9.30am on Saturday.

The force issued a detailed description of William in the hope that members of the public would be able to come forward with any information which may assist with their appeal.

Northumbria Police also issued a photograph of William.

A spokesperson said: "William is described as being 5ft 6ins, very slim, short brown hair that is going grey. He was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms that have two black stripes down each side, blue trainers with a white sole and a burgundy jumper.

"He is described as having dark tanned skin and green ink faded tattoos on his forearms."

William Lee has now been found, police have confirmed.
