Search is on to find Loch Lomond’s Top Dog this Saturday in a popular dog show

The search is on to find Loch Lomond’s top dog this weekend.

Loch Lomond Shores plays host to its hugely popular Top Dog event on Saturday, with plenty to keep those with two and four legs entertained.

The event will see a companion show, where you can enter your dog in lots of different categories including most handsome, prettiest bitch, best condition, puppy, veteran and more.

It’s only £3 to enter and only £1.50 to add another category to your entry with all proceeds going to the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat.

The show will be judged by Deborah Flemming, who is an experienced judge at lots of dog shows including Crufts.

Deborah will be assisted by Riannon Feasby and prizes are sponsored by McDug Nutrition, which provides tasty, healthy and nutritious meals made with fresh ingredients for all breeds.

Registration opens at 10am with the first class taking place at 12pm.

As well as the show, the Lomond Flyball team will be making a return this year with fun and games for all the dogs.

They will also put on some great demos and give out dog training tips, with four legged friends able to take part in a doggy assault course.

Loch Lomond Shores will also be welcoming Kirsty Coyle from Clyde Canine Massage who will be offering free muscular health checks for dogs and be available to discuss the benefits of clinical canine massage.

Lastly, for all our two-legged visitors, we’ll have lots of stalls with great human and dog-friendly treats as well as street food.

And Audrey Calder from Loch Lomond Shores is delighted to welcome back the Top Dogs event.

She said: “This event was popular last year and is great for all our regular dog-owning visitors who come for days out. It also emphasises our dog-friendly status, which is something that we’re proud of.

“Many of our stores including Sports Direct, Frasers, Catherine Kinloch and Hawkshead welcome well-behaved dogs in-store and Café Zest has a dedicated dog-friendly area within their café so visitors can enjoy time indoors as well as outdoors with their pets.

“Our new arrival – Jurassic Ice Bar also welcomes well-behaved dogs accompanying customers eating on their loch-view balcony on our first floor.”
