The search for a missing Limerick man was stood down on Wednesday after a body was found.

33-year-old Donal Kennedy, from Limerick City, was found after a multi-agency search operation which was underway since Sunday.

A garda spokesperson said: "Following the discovery of a body of a male in the Ballybunion area today, Wednesday 28th September 2022, the missing person appeal for Donal Kennedy has been stood down.

"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance with this matter."
