Search for owner as £1,000 Siberian Huskies found wandering streets of Nottinghamshire

Two Siberian Huskies worth around £1,000 each were found by police wandering the streets of Nottinghamshire.

Ashfield Police found the two dogs "taking themselves for a long walk".

They appealed for the owners of the dogs to get in touch and kept them at the station before handing them over to the dog warden.

Siberian Huskies are highly sought after dogs, with listings for puppies online valuing them at as much as £2,500.

The incident happened on January 14.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "These beautiful pair of white Siberian Huskies have decided to take themselves for a long walk early this morning.

"They are now safe and well with the dog warden where they will be looked after until their owners are located.

"I think they're itching to get back out for another walk, as they really did not want to stand still for their photoshoot."

Since the post online, the dogs have been safely reunited with their owner.
