Seann Walsh says he has earned the right to joke about Katya Jones after his career was stalled following their infamous 2018 kiss.
The 36-year-old comedian famously locked lips with 32-year-old Katya back when she was married to fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones, 39.
The kiss caused furore among Strictly fans as the pair appeared to succumb to the infamous ‘Strictly Curse’ which has ruined relationships ever since the show first began back in 2004.
Seann say his career dry up in the months surrounding the kiss – but he is now turning his misery into art via his stand up show titled Kiss.
Available to watch in full via YouTube, the star can be seen at one point in his show joking about Katya and their kiss as he discusses how their intimate indiscretion left him ‘humiliated’ and forced to apologise to his then-girlfriend, the actress Rebecca Humphries.
In his show, Seann claims that apologising to his now ex-girlfriend on national television was embarrassing – quipping: “It’s the most humiliated I’ve been since I was on the phone and a stranger stopped me to tell me my torch was on.
“How will I ever sleep again?”
He then made a joke about Katya, saying she was with him in his hotel bedroom after he was forced to flee his own home as paparazzi gathered outside.
He said: “The Friday night after the kiss, I was in my hotel and I got into bed and I asked Katya to pass me the remote.”
As the audience erupts into laughter, he said: “The three years I’ve had? I can make that f***ing joke!”
He then went on to explain that it was on that night that he realised his life would be changing for the worst.
He recalled: “I was in bed, and I turned on the television and on BBC Two was Have I Got News For You. And I shouldn’t have watched it, but I did. I suppose I was curious.
“But they didn’t say anything until the end – there was only one joke. It was a sight gag – which is when a joke is made about the picture.
“The picture was an open, blank book, and Richard Ayoade, who was hosting, said; ‘That’s Seann Walsh’s diary for the next 18 months.’
“Two things! First thing – correct! Second thing – how did he know there was going to be a pandemic?”
Elsewhere in the comedy special, Seann claims that a porn channel offered to pay him quarter of a million pounds to make a sex tape with Katya.
He claims: “Television X, The porn channel, remember that? Offered me £250,000 to do a porn film with Katja! But she said no!”
Seann says appearing on the show turned his life “upside down” and that “the dream, turned into a nightmare” as he had hoped to replicate the same success other comedy stars enjoyed after featuring on the dance show.
He explained: “I was dubbed the most hated comedian in the country. The most hated comedian in the country! Only I could go on Strictly Come Dancing and come out the most hated comedian in the country. What a f***ing c***!”
Comparing himself to past Strictly stars, he said: “Susan Cowman, been on the year before – went on to have her own TV shows.
“Chris Ramsey, did it the year after – number one podcast in the country! People dressed up as me for Halloween!”
