Seann Walsh said he knew that kissing Katya Jones was wrong because Piers Morgan and Katie Hopkins defended him.
The funnyman ended up at the centre of Strictly Come Dancing's biggest ever scandals after he was caught snogging his married dance partner.
In a show he uploaded to YouTube, Seann, 36, told the audience how his life was turned upside down after the kiss.
Looking at the funny side, he said that he knew he was in trouble when he was being supported by controversial characters.
During his Seann Walsh: Kiss | Full Comedy Special he filled the audience members in on the moment his career nosedived: "We went for a drink, and one thing lead to another - and we were photographed kissing outside a pub. Awful, I know, I was sorry and I'm still sorry now.
"What followed was being central to a media storm, and being on the receiving end of thousands of abusive, personal posts online."
He continued: "And I did begin to wonder, have I actually done anything that wrong? And then Katie Hopkins tweeted in my defence and I thought 'I f***** up'
"Then Piers Morgan started defending me and I thought 'I really f***** up'" he said with a bemused face.
He joked how he was on the front pages of the newspapers for 12 days, adding that he "hated it".
The comedian, who cheated on his long term girlfriend Rebecca Humphries, was taken aside by his agent who told him that he'd been photographed kissing Katya.
"I was at that exact point that my life would turn upside down - the dream turned into a nightmare," he said.
"I was in a relationship, my dance partner Katya was married."
After the photos of him and Katya were leaked, Seann said that he went into hiding and became increasingly paranoid of being tracked down.
"I was really paranoid that someone was going to see me and tell the press where I'm located, because I was in a secret hotel," he said.
Returning to the exact location for the film, he stood in Notting Hill and looked back on the moment he had a total meltdown.
He said: "I remember a blonde woman walking past me and she clocked me and I felt like she knew who I was, and that suddenly freaked me out and I thought 'I've got to go back, I'm about to have a big panic attack'.
"Notting Hill started spinning and I'm like 'I can't f****** stand, I'm going to fall to the ground'.
He pointed at the side of the road and said: "So I'm now lying here, screaming, I look up and a double decker bus goes past and the whole top deck does this," he said before acting out how the unfazed passengers watched him as they went past.
He laughed: "That was the most f****** London thing. If we were in the country, someone would have stopped and been like 'there's a guy in the road screaming'
He said how he was rescued by two Good Samaritans, who asked if he wanted a lift back to his hotel.
The performer said that after the attack, he had to perform the Charleston "in front of about five million people".
As well as discussing the kiss and the drama that unfolded at length, the comedian also revealed how one daring stunt on the show left him wishing "he'd dropped down and died".
