Max Holloway showed once again that he’s the standard among featherweight contenders when he added to his historic resume by ending Arnold Allen’s streak in the UFC on ESPN 44 headliner.
Holloway (24-7 MMA, 20-7 UFC) rebounded from his title-fight loss to Alexander Volkanovski in July when he earned a unanimous decision win over Allen (19-2 MMA, 10-1 UFC) on Saturday at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Not only did “Blessed” join the UFC’s 20-win club and become the first fighter with 3,000 career significant strikes landed in the octagon, but he sent a stern reminder to the 145-pond division that he is not going to fade away quietly, despite being down 0-3 in his head-to-head series with Volkanovski.
The Hawaiian is in a curious position, though, so what comes next for him? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on Holloway’s future after UFC on ESPN 44.
