Dustin Poirier lost a rematch for the first time in his career on Saturday when he was knocked out by Justin Gaethje in their “BMF” title fight at UFC 291.
Poirier (29-8 MMA, 21-7 UFC) could not repeat the feat of his TKO win from April 2018, and instead was put to sleep by Gaethje’s (25-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) thunderous head kick in the second round of the “BMF” title fight at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
“The Diamond” expressed uncertainty about his future in the aftermath of the event, and whether he will be keen to try to build himself back up.
