Sean Payton says players’ belief in Bo Nix is ‘pretty powerful’

The Denver Broncos are sitting pretty with a 7-5 record going into Week 13. Although they have a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix, the Broncos are looking to become contenders again.

The Broncos will enter December with a winning record. Head coach Sean Payton knows and understands the importance of playing your best football at the best time. However, a team can only go as far as its belief in its quarterback. Without that, the team cannot get in alignment.

That said, Payton stated last week that Nix has a robust belief system from his teammates behind him, which should pay dividends moving forward.

“I think it’s pretty powerful and he’s why — just having experienced it for a long stretch with another player in [Drew] Brees,” Payton said. “You always believe you’re in each game. You always believe — even if you fall behind — you’re in each game. The opposite can be very difficult. I think that player who’s touching the ball on every offensive play, it definitely can lead to a direction — both mentally as well as on the field — lead to a direction [of] how a team thinks.”

Broncos running back Bo Nix has also noted the team’s confidence in Nix.

Nix and Co. will look to improve on their 7-5 mark when the Cleveland Browns visit Empower Field at Mile High in Week 13.
