Sean Paul confirmed to play Siren festival at Bristol harbourside

"International superstar" Sean Paul has been confirmed to play Siren festival at Bristol harbourside this summer. The three-day music event welcomes the Grammy award-winning rapper - who is considered to be one of dancehall's most prolific artists - as its Friday headliner.

Best known for Grammy-award winning 'Dutty Rock', 'Baby Boy' with Beyonce and 'Cheap Thrills' with Sia, he is the only Jamaican artist to have won an American Music award for Favourite Pop/Rock Male Artist. He played Bristol's O2 Academy back in 2011 but is gearing up to return to the city for the harbourside festival on July 28.

Tom Hoyle, Co-Founder of Siren, said: “Sean Paul is an international superstar and one of the biggest names in dancehall music so having him on the Siren stage this summer is an incredible honour. He’s an act whose output over the last 20 years has connected with so many different audiences and we’re really excited to be bringing him to Bristol for the first time in over 12 years!”

"After last year's sold out events, this year’s harbourside weekender is going to be bigger than ever and our line-up for all three nights is going to make this summer one to remember. We’ve been blown away by the incredible response to these shows already so we’re looking forward to a great weekend.”

Siren festival debuted at Bristol Amphitheatre last year and sees some of the biggest names in dance, rap, hip hop and D&B from July 27-29. Mercury Prize winner and Bristol's own Roni Size will be playing alongside Gloucester rapper Dynamite MC who are joining headliners Fabio & Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra on the first night.

Coming to prominence in the late 1990 as the founder and frontman of Roni Size & Reprazent, the Bristol-born DJ helped launch the career of Dynamite MC, who is now known globally as an MC. He's since collaborated with a whole host of world-class artists including Krafty Kuts, DJ Skitz, Switch, Elephant Man, Sinden, Andy C and many more.

Siren returns to the heart of the harbourside from Thursday, July 27 to Saturday, July 29. Friday tickets for Sean Paul on sale from March 10 for £33.

Thursday tickets are currently on their second release on sale for £38.50 on the Siren website. Saturday's line up for 'Hospitality on the Harbour' is yet to be announced in full but so far has confirmed Wilkinson as a headline DJ slot, A.M.C and DJ Marky.
