Alexander McQueen is about to begin a new era. Following Sarah Burton's departure from the iconic British fashion house, we just got a preview of what the brand will look like under the creative direction of Seán McGirr.
McGirr, who previously led ready-to-wear at JW Anderson, will present his debut collection for Alexander McQueen in just a few short weeks. Ahead of the highly-anticipated runway show on March 2, the brand released a look at McGirr's first collection.
Photographed by Tommy Malekoff, the images show models Debra Shaw and Frankie Rayder wearing chrome skull masks in an ancient pine forest. A "long-time archetypal motif of the house," the skull pays homage to the brand's DNA while still looking toward the future thereby "embracing Alexander McQueen's past to inform the present..."
This tease definitely piques our interest in the brand's upcoming Fall 2024 collection. So mission accomplished.
