Sean, Leigh Anne Tuohy Accuse Michael Oher of Attempted Extortion

The saga of former Ole Miss and NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher and the Tuohy family continues to grow uglier.

In documents submitted to Shelby County Probate Court in Memphis on Monday, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy accused Oher of trying to extort them, producing texts they believe support their account.

Among messages allegedly from Oher were texts calling the Tuohys "thieves," threatening to "tell the world" how he was "robbed by my suppose to be [sic] parents," and telling them "think how it will look when this comes out."

In a statement to Good Morning America, Oher and his legal team denied the Tuohys' claims.

Oher filed a lawsuit on Aug. 14 alleging the Tuohys profited off his life story by having him sign what he believed to be adoption papers that were in reality documents establishing a conservatorship.

The Blind Side, a book detailing Oher's difficult upbringing by Michael Lewis, was made into a lucrative Oscar-nominated film in 2009. That same year, Oher—on the heels of an All-American season with the Rebels—was drafted by Ravens with the No. 23 pick.

He went on to play eight years in the NFL for Baltimore, the Titans and Panthers.
