Sean Dyche tips hat to Scotland after Spain triumph as post Rangers plan for Nathan Patterson excites Everton boss

Sean Dyche has hailed Scotland's win over Spain - as he looks to get the best from Nathan Patterson.

The Everton boss was delighted to see his young right-back get minutes for his country across their two Euro 2024 Group A qualifiers against Cyprus and Spain, beating the latter 2-0 on a triumphant Tuesday at Hampden. Dyche acknowledges how good a result that is for the nation but one of his key points of focus from it was the experience his young right-back got.

Patterson left Rangers for Merseyside in January 2022 but his progress has been disrupted by injury, although he has impressed when given the chance. Those opportunities mostly came under previous boss Frank Lampard but now it's Dyche who is looking forward to working with the Ibrox acadeemy graduate. He said of the 20-year-old: "He's still a young player, developing. There is still more to come from him.

"But he got injured pretty quickly, he's now over that, which is good. He has played a bit earlier in the season here, so there is a lot of development in him.

"But he is going about it the right way now he is fit. It was a fantastic win for Scotland the other night [against Spain], and he got a little piece of it as well which is great for him."
