Sean Dyche has explained the thinking behind Everton’s decision to travel to Goodison Park on a team bus for Thursday’s game against Newcastle United.
Since the appointment of Dyche as Blues boss in January, Everton’s first-team players have made their own way to Goodison for matches - as opposed to arriving together on coaches like they did under the stewardship of Frank Lampard.
However, it was confirmed on Tuesday night that the Blues would now arrive by coach for their game against the Magpies. Ahead of their side's last three home matches of last season, thousands of Everton supporters arrived early and took to the streets to produce incredible scenes as Lampard and his squad arrived.

Banners and flags were on full display, there was constant loud singing and numerous smoke bombs filled the air to create a raucous atmosphere. Similar scenes had also been witnessed outside Finch Farm ahead of the Blues' two away trips to Leicester and Watford as supporters looked to inspire their side over the line.
And when asked about the change on Wednesday, Dyche said: “All Evertonians, not just those who come in the stadium, know just how important this run of games is.
“They are all important games but of course this last clutch of games are bound to be important because of what it means.
“It (the coach welcome) was well documented last season and a couple of fan groups mentioned about it this season and I’ve a massive respect for them from what I’ve seen and heard from the fans since I’ve been here.
“They wanted to play their part, if that can make a difference, and beyond that we want the team to play their part and make a difference.
“I think it helps to create an atmosphere but the focus remains on the whistle blowing because that alone can’t win you the game as you have to make sure you are in the right frame of mind regardless.”
