Everton boss Sean Dyche offered a blunt response to a reporter intent on quizzing the manager about state ownership at Newcastle United and in the rest of the Premier League. The questions from the journalist come after the Magpies were back under the spotlight after calls to re-examine the Toon's ownership.
United's ownership has been triggered into the public domain on the back of an ongoing legal dispute between the PGA Tour and the Saudi-backed LIV Golf organisation and it is has been suggested that it could have big ramifications for Newcastle. However, Chronicle Live understands the club is unlikely to receive any backlash from the Premier League.
Dyche, who was previously in charge of Burnley, was sacked in April 2022 with a few games of the season left to play. The former Clarets boss was questioned about whether he thought the Premier League table could have looked a lot different, had Newcastle's takeover not been given the green light.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of Everton's trip to Nottingham Forest, Dyche said: "I have absolutely no worry about anyone else. Whatever the powers that be are looking at, that's up to them.
"I'm focussed on Everton Football Club."
When pressed about state ownership in the Premier League, Dyche refused to be drawn into the debate. "As I said, I'm just focussing on Everton Football Club.
"The bigger picture is for you to debate, mine is to make sure I'm working hard for this football club, this team to try and be successful."
When asked about more stringent tests being in place, Dyche responded: "As I said - I'll remind you if you like - again - my focus is on Everton Football Club. That's what I'm looking at.
"I can't get up about everything, I haven't got time at the moment to worry about everything other than what we're doing here. I'm channelling all my efforts into Everton Football Club."
When pressed again about not looking at the situation at other clubs, Dyche responded bluntly again. He said: "No, not as much what I've been looking at the team because I've got to affect the things that are right in front of me."
