Sean Dyche names first ever Everton line-up with two changes for Arsenal

Sean Dyche has made two changes to the Everton side that lost at West Ham, sealing the fate of Frank Lampard.

Yerry Mina and Demarai Gray are both out of the starting eleven, with Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dwight McNeil replacing them. Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts up front and Seamus Coleman will captain Everton for the 101st time in the Premier League.

McNeil's introduction means Dyche turns to two of his former players at Burnley in his first line-up, with James Tarkowski also starting at the back.

The selection paves the way for numerous formations. Lampard favoured a 3-5-2 in his final weeks as Blues boss, with Gray playing off Calvert-Lewin. Dyche favoured 4-4-2 at Burnley and there has been speculation as to whether he would immediately revert to that style for the match with league leaders Arsenal, though this Everton side could well start as a 4-5-1 with McNeil and Iwobi out wide.

Gray - who has a case to having been the best player of Everton's dismal return from the World Cup break - is on the bench alongside Mina, Ben Godfrey, Mason Holgate, Ruben Vinagre, Ellis Simms, Tom Davies, Asmir Begovic and Neal Maupay.

Starting XI: Pickford; Mykolenko, Coady, Tarkowski, Coleman; McNeil, Doucoure, Iwobi, Gueye, Onana; Calvert-Lewin;

Subs: Begovic, Holgate, Gray, Mina, Maupay, Godfrey, Davies, Vinagre, Simms;

Arsenal: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli;
