Sean Dyche facing biggest Everton question as Abdoulaye Doucoure hints at 'personal issue'

Here are your Everton morning headlines for Saturday, March 4.

Sean Dyche is about to get answer to his biggest question as Everton face defining week

Everton are improving under Sean Dyche. They pose more of a threat going forwards - having far more touches in and around the opposition box in his games so far.

They are creating more, and better chances - as shown by the expected goals (xG) stats of recent games. They are more dangerous from attacking set pieces and have already shown - twice - they can protect a lead when they find the goals that are proving so elusive.

The question for me, now, isn’t whether Everton are making progress. It’s whether they can make enough progress at a quick enough rate to avoid relegation. Dyche’s Blues are in a race against both time and the fixture list.

The former Watford man cut a frustrated figure during his time on Merseyside under Lampard as he was reduced to just one start in, what proved to be, a final season in L4 for the iconic England midfielder.

Under new manager Sean Dyche, the Mali international has been everpresent in the heart of the Blues midfield after winning two and losing three under the 51-year-old thus far. The 30-year-old is into the final six months of his contract at Everton as they look to beat the drop. Amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, the ex-Burnley boss has fielded questions about the next steps this week but Doucoure has expressed his happiness at the club.
