Lawyers representing disgraced media mogul and rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs are requesting a minimum two-month delay in his upcoming sex trafficking trial. Combs, who was arrested in September 2024 on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, has remained in police custody ever since.
His attorneys, Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, have argued that the trial, currently set to begin on May 5 in New York, will start too soon as the prosecution has been slow in providing evidence. Agnifilo and Geragos have penned a letter to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian stating, "We cannot, in good conscience, go to trial on the scheduled date."

Combs' team emphasized that some materials related to a recent superseding indictment, which includes charges carrying a mandatory 15-year sentence upon conviction, have yet to be disclosed.
The prosecution has claimed that this is only a stalling tactic by Combs' lawyers. In turn, Judge Subramanian has acknowledged the urgency of the trial, likening it to a "freight train moving toward trial," and has scheduled a hearing for April 18 to address the delay request.
@dailymail Two more charges have been added to Diddy's initial indictment. This is the third time changes have been made as we see more and more allegations surface. Combs, 55, faces charges stemming from allegations that he exploited his celebrity status to coerce and abuse women over two decades. The recent superseding indictment adds new charges involving a second alleged victim, referred to as "Victim-2," and includes accusations of transporting individuals for prostitution.
In preparation for the trial, Combs' defense team has proposed a comprehensive 27-page juror questionnaire to identify potential biases, particularly concerning sexually explicit material expected to be presented during the proceedings.
This includes videos allegedly recorded without consent during "elaborate and produced sex performances," referred to as "freak offs." The defense argues that these materials depict consensual acts and seeks jurors open to alternative private behaviors. Diddy's defense team has claimed that the sexual videos in evidence will "confirm Mr. Combs's innocence" as the participants were supposedly "consenting adults."
The upcoming hearing on April 18 will determine whether the trial will proceed as scheduled or be postponed to allow the defense additional time to prepare. Combs maintains his innocence, having pleaded not guilty to all charges.
