A resurfaced interview with Sean “P Diddy” Combs shows him joking about getting arrested as he discusses his infamous parties.
The hip-hop mogul, 54, was arrested on September 16 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and sexual assault and other crimes. He pleaded not guilty to the three-count indictment and was denied bail. He has been taken to jail to await trial.
Combs’ “White Parties” were lavish affairs involving a white dress code and star-studded guest lists, made up of the upper echelons of the music and entertainment industries.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight from 1999, which has resurfaced following his indictment, he is asked asked about his soirées, which are described as “the hottest ticket around”.
“They won’t even give me a permit for the parties. And they don’t want me to throw the parties no more,” Combs tells the interviewer.
“But we ain’t going to stop. We gonna keep on having fun. Bringing people together from all walks of life.”

He continues: “You’re going to hear about my parties. They gonna be shutting them down. They gonna probably be arresting me – doing all types of crazy things just because we want to have a good time.
“Whenever you bring up a different element into people’s environment, things that broaden people’s horizons, people get intimidated,” he continues, going on to add: “It ain’t nothing but breaking down racial barriers, breaking down generation barriers.”
Name-dropping Jay-Z and actor Ron Perlman, who he claims attended his parties, Combs says: “It just goes on and on. People from all walks of life connecting and getting together.”
Asked how it made him feel to know that “people are dying to get into [his] parties”, Combs replies: “I mean it’s cool. It doesn’t make me feel anyway special; it doesn’t make me feel like a bigger person. It just makes me feel like I know how to throw a party.”
Oscar winning actor Leonardo Di Caprio has reportedly distanced himself from Combs after a photo emerged of him at one of his parties.
In a video interview with Vogue in 2017, entitled ‘73 Questions with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’, the musician said DiCaprio was the “number one” person on the invite list for his then upcoming White Party.
A source close to the Titanic actor appeared to dismiss any suggestion the pair are close, telling MailOnline: “Leonardo DiCaprio has absolutely nothing to do with any of this.
“He has nothing to do with any of that world, so for anyone to assume that he will get roped into this based on a few grainy photos that are more than 20 years old is ridiculous.”
