Following his arrest last week and the unsealing of an indictment against him, data from industry analytics company Luminate revealed a significant uptick in on-demand streams of Combs' music. Known by various monikers such as Diddy, Puff Daddy, and P. Diddy, his music experienced an average surge of 18.3% in streams during the week of his arrest compared to the previous week.
It is not uncommon for artists to witness a rise in streaming numbers amidst controversy. For instance, after a documentary highlighting allegations of sexual misconduct against R&B singer R. Kelly, his streaming figures nearly doubled.
Combs currently faces federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
