Séamus Power has won his second PGA Tour event at the Bermuda Championship after shooting a final round of 70 for a total score of 19-under par to see off Belgium's Thomas Detry by a single stroke.
The Irish star had put himself right into contention on Sunday with three consecutive rounds of 65, meaning he started the day tied for the lead with Ben Griffin. A one-over-par round of 71 ended the American's hopes of victory and opened the door for Power to clinch the title.
A Birdie on the opening hole set the tone for a sparkling front nine for Power. Further Birdies on 5 and 7 had the world number 46 in pole position to win his first tournament since the Barbasol Open back in the summer of 2021.
A Bogey on 13 was followed by a monster Birdie putt dropping on 14. With only four holes to go, Power had the solo lead.
The Waterford man didn't make things easy for himself. Bogeys on 15 and 16 opened the door for Detry, who was on his way to carding a wonderful 4-under par round, to pounce.
However, the 35-year-old regained his composure to Birdie the Par 5 17th. With a two-shot lead standing on the final tee box, Power was able to play safe and Bogey the 18th to secure victory by a sole shot.
This is Power's second victory on tour. With the win, the Déise man takes home a cool $1,170,000 in prize money.
