Seahawks still last NFC team to make consecutive Super Bowls

Right now, the Philadelphia Eagles are among the talk of the town when it comes to the NFL, and certainly in the NFC. However, time will tell if they are able to do something no team in the conference has done for nearly a decade: return to the Super Bowl the following year.

The last NFC team to successfully defend their conference title was the Legion of Boom era Seattle Seahawks, who won it in 2013 and 2014. In fact, the L.O.B. Seahawks are the only team in the 21st century to win the NFC in back to back years. One must go all he way back to the 1996-1997 Green Bay Packers to find the last consecutive NFC champions.

Philadelphia has, theoretically, as good a chance as any to become the second team this century to do so. They seemingly reloaded an already stacked roster, especially on the defensive line. They drafted Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who fell to them at No. 9 overall, and after Seattle passed over him.

However, Super Bowl hangovers are a real thing, especially for the Super Bowl loser. The Eagles’ famed defensive line failed to bring Patrick Mahomes down once and allowed four-straight scoring drives in the second half of Super Bowl LVII to lose 38-35.
