While Seattle Seahawks fans got some bad news on Thursday regarding safety Jamal Adams and his hand injury, the team’s other starting safety – Quandre Diggs – has had an impressive start to training camp.
“He had a fantastic first day,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Thursday. “The thing that I posed to the guys was that you get this one shot, yesterday, to make a first impression. I was trying to challenge them a little bit. We had a number of guys that jumped out at us on the practice field and off of the film. He was one of them, Quandre looked great yesterday.”
Diggs is returning from a gruesome leg injury after he dislocated his ankle and broke his fibula in the Seahawks’ final game of the season. Now, back on the practice field, Carroll isn’t taking any unnecessary risks.
“You could not tell, he had a couple of bursts in coverage opportunities and he was flying around the field,” Carroll continued. “I think that he logged the most plays in the day by the time the day was over, so we cut back a little bit today. He was a full go and that was great.”
