Seahawks safety Jamal Adams gives ‘heartfelt’ pep talk to teammates

Coach Pete Carroll isn’t setting a return timeline for Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams, who is on his way to surgery in the next couple of days. Adams injured his quadriceps tendon during the first half of the season opener last Monday night.

The Pro Bowl safety made a surprise appearance – in a wheelchair no less – following Friday’s walkthrough.

“He just popped in on us at the end there,” Carroll said. “He had a chance to speak to the whole crew and he’s such a heartfelt guy and just let it out. And he told the guys what he was thinking and how grateful he was about the win. And trying to haul him out of the stadium and he was in the box or something; got the chance to watch the finish and was going crazy at the end in the way the defense played and all that.

“It was great to reconnect with him, for everybody.”

Carroll expects to know more about Adams’ prognosis following his upcoming surgery.
