It is certainly no secret that the Seattle Seahawks have a considerable third down issue. This problem has persisted all season long, and it took a disastrous turn last week against the Baltimore Ravens. Seattle was a miserable 1-for-12 on third down, only gaining six first downs all game in their 37-3 blowout loss.
When a team fails like this to such a spectacular degree, there’s plenty of blame to go around. Especially when it comes to the offensive line, the run game, and coaching. But in football, blame first and foremost goes to the quarterback.
Fortunately for the Seahawks, they have a signal caller in Geno Smith who more than willing to take accountability. Seattle’s starter took to the media to discuss the third down problems, and the focus to fix them.

The Seahawks will take on the Washington Commanders this Sunday at 1:25 pm. If Seattle wants to claim their first ever regular season win at home against the Washington franchise, they will need to be considerably better on third down.
