Seahawks in the middle of these post-Super Bowl power rankings

The Seahawks have pretty terrible odds to win next year’s Super Bowl. According to the early figures, Seattle is at 60/1 to win it all, tied with the Steelers, Buccaneers, Panthers and Commanders. That seems just a bit harsh from our perspective – especially considering none of those teams have an established franchise quarterback and only one made the playoffs because they won a weak division.

At the very least, Seattle should be placed in the middle of the pack looking ahead to next season. That’s exactly where they rank in this new batch of post-Super Bowl power rankings from Mark Lane at Touchdown Wire. He has the Seahawks at No. 17 on his list:

“Seattle having the fifth overall pick to build off of their playoff season should keep them in the conversation for the NFC West. The defense has an interesting piece in cornerback Tariq Woolen, who led the NFL with six interceptions and also broke up 16 passes. With the right moves in the offseason, Seattle could find themselves back in the playoffs.”

This is exactly right.

With another strong draft class and a quality free agent pickup or two, this team could be a contender again sooner rather than later.
