Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald addressed snapping the losing streak

The Seattle Seahawks were facing an uphill battle going into Week 7. This was a team reeling from three-straight losses, facing an opponent who had won their last three. The Seahawks were in dire need of a win to at least keep pace with the 49ers, if not outright pass them (which, did in fact happen!) in the standings.

Seattle responded to these challenges with their most complete victory of the 2024 season to date. The Seahawks played complimentary football on both sides of the ball to earn their dominant 34-14 victory over a quality Atlanta team. After the game, head coach Mike Macdonald discussed the elephant in the room, which was ending the first losing skid of his regime.

“Our guys are determined,” Macdonald proudly declared. “We grew as a football team this week, and now we have to keep it going. We have to keep stacking these days, keep stacking our prep, take what we need to learn from this game and keep moving forward. It’s still early in the season, but it’s great to get back in the win column for sure.”

A cliche in football is the mentality of just going “1-0” each week, but there’s a reason this mentality exists. You cannot stack wins or get on a winning streak if it does not start somewhere at first.

The Seahawks will have their next opportunity to go “1-0” and build on this win next Sunday, when they host the Buffalo Bills. It will be the Bills’ first trip to the Emerald City since the 2016 season.
