Seahawks strong safety Jamal Adams is injured again. This time it’s a knee issue which kept him on the sidelines for practice all last week and put him on the inactives list for Monday night’s game against the Eagles – for which he was not present at the stadium.
Head coach Pete Carroll told ESPN radio earlier this week that the injury is really hard on Adams and seemed to understand his absence. However, later in the day he told reporters at the VMAC that the team has acknowledged the possibility of shutting down Adams for the rest of the season.

In addition to missing several games with injuries, Adams has been a liability both on and off the field this season. He has allowed a career-high 111.7 passer rating in coverage and missed nine tackles (15.8%). Once the league’s most-disruptive pass rushing DB, Adams has not posted a single sack since the 2020 season. He’s also gotten into public beefs with everyone from concussion officials on TV to Jets beat reporters on social media.
Fans are eager for the team to move on from Adams in 2024, but doing so would cost them over $20 million in dead money over the next two years.
