The Seattle Seahawks got their first look at wide receiver Marquise Goodwin on Monday after he formally signed his contract with the team.
“He’s extraordinarily fast. He’s a gifted athlete,” coach Pete Carroll said after the Seahawks wrapped up their first OTA of the season. “He came right out here day one and he still shows that he can fly.”
Goodwin initially entered the NFL in 2013 when he was drafted by the Bills in the third round. After four years in Buffalo, he played the next three seasons with the Seahawks’ division rivals, the 49ers. Goodwin then spent one year each in Philadelphia and Chicago.
“He’s a real disciplined route runner, and he’s also a guy who’s played all the spots,” Carroll continued. “So I’m thinking that he will add something with what he brings athletically but also his background and his makeup and his versatility.”
