The worst moment of the cursed 2021 season for the Seahawks happened in the fourth quarter of their Week 18 win over the Cardinals. The victory was thrilling and cathartic but bittersweet, as free safety Quandre Diggs suffered a devastating leg injury – breaking his fibula and dislocating his ankle.
Diggs had been playing a dangerous, often thankless position at a high level for Seattle’s defense all year, earning himself a Pro Bowl nomination and a handful of All-Pro votes. Thanks to his exceptional performance the last 2+ years Diggs should be first in line among the team’s pending free agents for a contract extension.
Good news: it’s been roughly one month since his surgery and Diggs appears to be making progress.
Yesterday, Diggs tweeted that he got his cast off.

In just 38 games since the trade from Detroit, he has already totaled 13 interceptions, by far the most for the franchise during that time.
Truth is, the Seahawks should have never let him go this long without giving him a new deal in the first place. Diggs says he wants to stay but has to be fairly compensated.
