Drama seems to be the theme in the NFC West this offseason. The Seahawks are leading the charge, as they’ve already traded their franchise quarterback and released the most universally-respected defender in team history. On the bright side, their division rivals don’t seem to be doing any better in the keeping-the-best-player-on-your-team-happy department. Today we come bearing some high-quality copium for disappointed 12s.
Here’s a quick review of what’s going on in Arizona, San Francisco and LA.
Cards QB Kyler Murray skipping OTAs
First up, it seems the Cards are still having trouble maintaining a good relationship with their QB1. According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, Kyler Murray will not be present at OTAs as they begin this week.
Cardinals’ QB Kyler Murray will not be at Arizona’s OTAs this week, as expected. All continues to remain quiet on his contract front, for now.

Murray still has two years left on his current contract but wants a raise.
49ers WR Deebo Samuel also MIA
The Niners’ top playmaker is also unhappy with his situation. Ian Rapoport at NFL Network is reporting that dual-threat superstar wide receiver Deebo Samuel will not be attending OTAs.
The #49ers begin OTAs today and star WR Deebo Samuel won’t be in attendance, source said. Not a surprise, as his situation remains unsettled.

Samuel’s dissatisfaction seems to be related to how he’s used on the field rather than over how much he’s paid. He has demanded a trade.
Rams DT Aaron Donald may still consider retirement
In Seattle’s MCU the role of Thanos has been played by Aaron Donald since the 2014 season. Good news, here. According to Jeremy Fowler at ESPN, Donald could still retire if the Rams don’t meet his number. H/T Rams Wire:
“Keep in mind that the retirement buzz around Donald — first delivered by NBC’s Rodney Harrison on the Super Bowl pregame broadcast — was always real. And it’s my understanding that Donald has a number he will play for. If it’s not met, retirement can still go down.”
In 16 games against the Seahawks Donald has 15 sacks and 41 QB hits.
While it’s fun to see your enemies flounder it’s important to keep perspective. Even if you took all three of these stars out of the equation this team wouldn’t win the division this year.
