Seahawks’ defense has made tremendous turnaround

When the Arizona Cardinals were preparing to take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6 on the road, it was considered a game for the offense to get right, as the Seahawks had been one of the worst units in the NFL.

They were dead last in the league in total defense and 31st in points allowed entering Week 6.

From Weeks 2-5, they allowed an average of 34.5 points per game and 429.8 yards per game. They were a bad defensive team.

That has changed. The 19-9 win over the Cardinals in Week 6 seems to have been the turning point.

In their last three games, the Seahawks now have allowed an average of 15 points per game and 289.7 yards per game.

They have forced two turnovers in each of their last six games and in seven of eight games this season.

This defensive turnaround has sparked a three-game winning streak and has the Seahawks sitting atop the NFC West at 5-3, the only team in the division with a winning record.

The Cardinals have gotten better offensively since the loss in Seattle, but they will have to be even better to have success to a Seattle defense that has suddenly gone from terrible to quite good.
