The Seattle Seahawks are set to square off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday for their first preseason game of the summer. The squad is battling a number of injuries, however, especially on the defensive side of the ball at the cornerback position.
Coach Pete Carroll provided some important injury updates following Tuesday’s practice, explaining: “We are a little bit low on the corner spot you know with Johnny Reid (groin) out too right now.”
Here’s a look at who else is banged up ahead of the Steelers matchup.
Cornerback Artie Burns (groin): “He tweaked his groin today unfortunately in the one-on-ones,” Carroll said. “I don’t know what that means at this point, but he felt it, so we had to get him out of there.”
Cornerback Sidney Jones IV (concussion): “I need to hear more for the next two days to see what’s going on,” Carroll told reporters. “He’s feeling really good. I talked to him this morning but I have to get the rebound of that from the doctor. I haven’t heard that today.”
Cornerback Tre Brown (PUP list, knee): “He’s making progress,” Carroll confirmed. “He’s running and working out but it’s not like in the next day or two. It’s going to be some time still. He hasn’t been able to run full speed yet on the field. Until he can do that, we won’t know anything.”
