The Las Vegas Raiders introduced Pete Carroll as their new head coach earlier this week. The Seattle Seahawks’ former leader immediately takes charge of the worst team in the AFC West. As Carroll begins building his coaching staff, he’s reportedly targeting one current Seahawks assistant, and one former one.
Seahawks will undeniably possess interest in following Carroll’s tenure with the Raiders closely. Carroll was historically in charge of the Seahawks for 13 seasons. He compiled a record of 137-89-1, winning Super Bowl XLVIII in 2013.
Unfortunately, Mike Macdonald’s Seahawks aren’t scheduled to play versus Carroll’s Raiders in 2025. The wait for that potential matchup won’t be much longer than that, however. The Seahawks are slated to compete against the Raiders in 2026, as the AFC West is on their future schedule.
Seahawks will play at the Raiders in 2026 for what will be an amazing game. https://t.co/70eSfIVOpr

The Seahawks finished 10-7 in 2024, but missed the postseason. Meanwhile Carroll is inheriting a miserable Raiders team that finished 4-13. He’ll be working alongside new general manager John Spytek to improve the roster. Their top priority is to improve the quarterback position, which could see Carroll target current Seahawks starter Geno Smith via trade, or his former starter Russell Wilson, who is slated for free agency.
