Seahawks are different team since last facing the 49ers in Week 2

The Seattle Seahawks are set to square off this week against the San Francisco 49ers for the second time this season. The first go around, way back in Week 2, did not bode well for Seattle, who fell to San Francisco 27-7.

Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf hope things go a bit differently on Thursday night.

Just looking back at our mistakes and what not to do,” Metcalf told reporters on Tuesday. “They held us to seven points, and we didn’t score a point on offense. I’m just erasing all the penalties and mistakes that we had in that game and like I said, we are a different offense and a different team since that game.

“I know ever since that game, we turned our whole offense of thinking and scheming around to where we have been moving the ball up and down the field and scoring whenever we wanted to.”

The 49ers have a new-look offense on the field as well, now down to third-string quarterback Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant in this year’s NFL draft. And despite his draft position, Purdy has been off to a stellar start.

The division rivals are scheduled to kick off from Lumen Field Thursday night at 5:15 p.m.
