Sead Haksabanovic 'agrees' to Celtic transfer exit

Update: After a report from Sweden suggested Sead Haskabanovic had agreed to leave Celtic, the club have now officially confirmed the forward is indeed moving on a permanent basis to Malmo.

Original story follows.

Sead Haksabanovic has agreed to leave Celtic, according to a report.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke City in the Championship.

That move came after the Montenegrin was told by Brendan Rodgers that he was free to leave the club.

There was no obligation to buy included as part of the deal with Stoke, with the winger due to return to training at Lennoxtown next week when pre-season gets underway ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

However, it seems Haksabanovic won't be hanging around for long, with a move away from the Scottish Premiership champions close to completion.

According to Swedish media outlet Fotboll Direkt, the player will leave Celtic to join Malmo this summer.

He's very familiar with football in Sweden, having come through the ranks at Halmstads BK, before spending time at IFK Norrkoping and Djurgardens.

And it seems he will return to the country of his birth sooner rather than later, with their qualification campaign for next season's Champions League getting underway next month.

Haksabanovic joined Celtic for around £1m from Russian outfit Rubin Kazan in 2022.

The Ange Postecoglou signing is still under contract with the Hoops until 2027.

Meanwhile, a Croatian journalist remains adamant reported Celtic transfer target Dominik Livakovic is not on his way to Parkhead.

Earlier today, a report from Turkey suggested the Croatian international goalkeeper was set to swap Fenerbahçe for Brendan Rodgers' side, citing a price tag in the vicinity of £7.6m (€9m) was on the table.

But a Croatian journalist for Germanijak.hr has taken to social media to say the claims are nothing but conjecture and that Livakovic is not traveling to the East End of Glasgow.

"Dominik Livakovic won't join Celtic," said Ižak Ante Sučić on X (formerly Twitter). "Not a single word was exchanged between Dominik, his team and Fenerbahce  on that matter.

"Rumors from Turkey and Scotland were completely false. Everything was confirmed by his public relations agent Stipo Dubravac."
