Sea creature looks like 'alien' with extruding tentacles and even 'tastes like mussels'

TikTok users have been left terrified by a monster sea creature that looks like the 'Stranger Things' beast.

The clip of a bizarre sea creature looks disturbingly like the creature which brings terror to characters in the hit Netflix series.

The video was shared by The Fish Society, an account that regularly shows off animals from below the deep, and how these are prepared for meals.

In a clip that has racked up over 920,000 views, team member Amy Brise can be seen handling a strange-looking fish – with many people likening it to a demogorgon.

Just like the terrifying creature from the show, the fish - which is actually a Gooseneck barnacle - has extruding tentacles.

Amy shows off the creature while talking to the camera, explaining which part is the animal's "feeder".

She then presses down on this body part as dozens of creepy tendrils pop out.

"It’s not a Demogorgon, it’s a gooseneck barnacle," the post was captioned.

Social media users have been left baffled and just a tad scared.

"Don't tell me it's a little Demogorgon," wrote one TikToker, adding a stunned emoji face.

“That's going to be a no from me,” added one user.

“I'm [100] convinced that seafood is aliens," wrote someone else.

“Looks like what comes out of my mouth when I’ve had 1828378 beers," added a fourth person.

“There’s a Pokemon like that,” commented someone else.

"Over my dead body," added a sixth user.

Yet another person wrote: "No thank you but thanks for asking,"

"2022 is just dropping new species by the minute now," added someone else, with a stunned face emoji.

The Fish Society has over 200 types of seafood listed on its website but this is definitely among the weirder ones.

George Chambers, a content creator at The Fish Society said: “Gooseneck Barnacle also known as percebes, which are chipped off dangerous rocky shorelines in Spain.

“They sort of taste similar to mussel meat and the texture is similar too."

The Mirror reported in June how a sea creature washed up on a Welsh beach had been compared to the Shadow Monster in Stranger Things, but is actually a rare and very expensive delicacy.

The peculiar-looking critter - which has also been described as a "starfish playing the maracas" - was discovered on Bennar beach near Dyffryn Ardudwy, Gwynedd, by regular visitor Shell Longmore.

Curious to find out what it was she posted a photo on Facebook and was inundated with suggestions, reported North Wales Live.

“The stuff of nightmare’s. That’s what it is,” said one person.

Others compared it with the Shadow Monster, aka the Mind Flayer, a giant, spider-like beast from the series.

Shell said: “I thought I had seen all the local wildlife until I found this – it was a massive shock! It was a strange-looking creature but also very beautiful.”
