Screen Facilities Scotland relocates headquarters

Screen Facilities Scotland, the trade body affiliated to the UK Screen Alliance, has announced the relocation of its headquarters to Pioneer Film Studios, Scotland’s newest and largest film studio campus.

At more than 1.2 million square feet, there is a mix of studio space, workshop areas, backlots, yards, training facilities, editing suites and production office space in the heart of Glasgow.

Screen Facilities Scotland represents facilities and services companies working in the screen and media industries in Scotland. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary of formation this year, Screen Facilities Scotland was founded in 2012 by Joanna Dewar Gibb of Artem Scotland and several key facilities businesses.

Jamie McCoy, digital director and co-founder of Pioneer Film Studios, commented: “We’ve worked with Ian and the members of Screen Facilities Scotland since we opened our doors back in April 2022.

“It’s hugely important that Scotland is able to readily showcase the infrastructure, crew, cast, services and facilities companies that we have available.

“Part of our core mission here at Pioneer is bringing the industry together on site and having a physical location where the whole supply chain can base from and grow their businesses collaboratively, building a community at Pioneer Film Studios is made possible with the addition of Screen Facilities Scotland headquarters on site - and we can’t wait to continue to work together for Scotland.”

Ian Pearce, chair of Screen Facilities Scotland, added: “We have seen the Film and HETV industry in Scotland grow considerably over the past 10 years since the inception of Screen Facilities Scotland.

“As one of the few remaining emerging markets, Scotland has a lot to offer on the global stage and we’re committed to evidencing that.

“Relocation of our headquarters to Pioneer Film Studios makes a lot of sense for us because we all share a vision for Scotland and the industry, with a site this large it’s an excellent location to build a physical community for the industry which we’re delighted to support and grow together.”

Owned and operated by four co-founders, Pioneer Film Studios in Stepps also houses facilities by ADF and Film Hawk.
