Scrap 'involving several people' in popular seaside village under investigation

Gardai have launched an investigation into a public order incident in a Meath village.

Officers on the Meath Crime Prevention page said "several people were involved in a physical altercation" on the Coast Road in Laytown. The incident happened at around 4:20pm on Monday.

No arrests have yet been made and gardai are appealing for "anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information in relation to it or anyone who may have a recording of this incident to please contact Laytown Garda Station on 041-9813320 or Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-8010600".

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating a public order incident that occurred on the Coast Road, Laytown, at approximately 4:20pm yesterday, Monday 18 July 2022.

"No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing."
