Scouse Tipping Point player dominates show with Beatles question

A player from Liverpool dominated today's Tipping Point by nailing all of his questions and playing the machine in his favour.

Ben Shephard was back with another set of hopefuls ready to win a £20,000 cash prize. Luke was today's star player as he dominated the show from round one and managed to take home the jackpot prize.

Introducing himself as account manager from Liverpool, it wasn't long before Luke flexed his trivia knowledge by answering multiple questions correctly and passing the plays off to less fortunate contenders. His tactful playing forced his competitors to put their guards up as they barely managed to scrape together a £50 in round one.

Luke flew through the competition gathering hundreds of pounds and managed to just slip over the £1,000 line for round two. After a particularly heavy drop, bagging Luke £850, he let out a cheeky, "I'll take that," in excitement as he knew he was flying straight into round three.

Luck may have been on Luke's side as he was asked which Indian instrument featured on The Beatles' track Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown). With a smile on his face and without hesitation, he answered "sitar" which was correct.

He admitted he was tempted to let out his inner child with his winnings after Ben asked what his plans were. He said: "I just got engaged just after Christmas and shed like to spend some money on the wedding but the child in me is saying 'let's go to Disney." Luke added he watches the show with his daughter, Eva, 7, and when she learned the news her father would be a contestant she was "so excited."

With a show-stopping episode behind him, Luke rounded things out by pushing the jackpot counter over the edge with his final counter, taking home a £10,000 cash prize.
