Authorities in Pueblo, Colorado are contemplating criminal charges against a man suspected of hitting a woman during a concert at the Colorado State Fair. The incident occurred during a performance by country music star Scotty McCreery, who halted his show to address the situation.

In a video from the event, McCreery can be seen pointing into the crowd and calling out the alleged assailant, emphasizing that hitting a woman is unacceptable. The singer, known for his participation in 'American Idol,' promptly summoned police and security to intervene and ensure the woman's well-being.

During the concert, attendees expressed their disapproval through boos and chants as officials responded to the incident. McCreery, 30, condemned the act of violence, labeling it as cowardly and demanding that the individual responsible leave the premises.

Paramedics evaluated the woman at the scene, and although she declined transportation to a hospital, medical professionals ensured she received necessary care. The man involved was briefly detained but not formally arrested, with potential criminal charges now under review by prosecutors.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment at public events. Acts of violence, especially against women, are unequivocally condemned, and swift action is necessary to address such behavior and uphold the well-being of all attendees.
