A 17-YEAR-OLD girl has died after a serious car crash on a Scottish road.
Four others, all passengers in the same car, were taken to hospital.
Two of them, a three-year-old girl and a 39-year-old woman, “suffered serious injuries” and were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
The other two, both 17, were taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock with minor injuries, police said.
The incident happened around 10am on Thursday, December 14 on the A714 between Shalloch Park Roundabout and Pinmore in South Ayrshire.
The crash involved a blue Volkswagen Polo car and a white Ford Transit van, officers said.
The 17-year-old female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 35-year-old male driver of the van was uninjured.
Inspector Craig Beaver, of Ayrshire’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the female who died, and everyone affected by this tragic incident.
“An investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the road around the time of the incident.
