A Scottish restaurant has been ranked as one of the World's best steakhouses - the only one in the country to make the esteemed list. Porter & Rye in Glasgow has been ranked as 55th in the 101 World's Best Steakhouse list 2023.
The popular city restaurant has been named alongside eateries from across the globe, in cities including Buenos Aires, New York, Sydney and London. Taking to Instagram to share the news, Porter & Rye posted a snap of its chefs holding an award sign that read: "World's Best 101 Steak Restaurants 2023".
Along with the snap, its caption read: "This is the only one of these signs you will see in Scotland this year! We're over the moon to be listed again, thank you so much @worldbeststeakrestaurants."
Open since 2014, Porter & Rye, on Argyle Street in the trendy Finneston neighbourhood offers dry-aged meats sourced locally from Gaindykehead Farm in Airdrie. All are stored for up to 110 days in their famous meat cabinet for optimal flavour and texture.
Diners can choose from an array of prime cuts including sirloin, fillet and rump, as well as massive sharing steaks like Chateaubriand and Porterhouse.
Since 2019, the 101 Worlds Best Steakhouse list sees appointed "steak ambassadors" anonymously evaluate a selection of restaurants in their vicinity, with finalists decided by regional executive teams.
Named this year as the world's best steakhouse is Parilla Don Julio in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Coming in second place is the Hawksmoor in London, followed by American Cut Tribeca in New York City.
