Scottish spirits producer strikes new deal with major supermarket

AN award-winning Scottish spirits brand has announced a new deal with a major supermarket.

Hipflask Spirits has struck a partnership deal with Morrisons supermarkets, with a number of products to be stocked in six locations across the country.

Based in Angus, Hipflask was founded by Kim Cameron and, unlike its sister brand Gin Bothy that uses traditional methods of batching, pouring and labelling every bottle by hand, Hipflask has the versatility to be volume produced to meet the demands of larger retail partners.

Initially, the new deal will see the lifestyle spirit available at stores including Fort William, Auchinlea, Dundee, Perth, Gyle and Arbroath with each stocking four of the brand’s best-selling flavours – Golden Spiced Rum, Rhubarb & Lime Liqueur, Cherry & Vanilla and Raspberry Infused Gins.

The deal marks the brand’s second foray into supermarket stores after being selected as part of Aldi’s “Next Top Product” search in 2021.

Cameron said: “This partnership with Morrisons marks an important milestone for Hipflask Spirits.

“We’re thrilled to make our products more accessible to customers across Scotland through this collaboration.

“As a brand rooted in adventure and authenticity, we’re excited to see our spirits journeying into new territories, inviting more people to join us on our next adventure.”

The deal comes at an exciting time for the business as the Gin Bothy recently featured in the “goodie bags” at this year’s Oscars.

Local sourcing specialist for Morrisons in Scotland April Pollok commented: “At Morrisons, we are always keen to support Scottish suppliers and the launch of the Hipflask Spirits range from the Gin Bothy team across a selection of our stores has already brought great feedback from our customers and colleagues alike.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with the team at Gin Bothy and bring their exciting range to a wider audience.”
