Scottish rock band Mogwai allude to Celtic 10-in-a-row documentary discussions

Celtic put the feelers out about the prospect of creating a documentary for potentially winning ten-in-a-row, according to a Scottish rock band member.

The Hoops had dominated the Scottish Premiership landscape for the previous nine years, so it's little wonder plans had apparently began to be put in place should they lift the league crown once again in the 2020-21 season.

Winning ten successive titles is a feat that has remained within touching distance of both sides of the Glasgow divide but neither have been able to conquer their quest for double digit dominance.

Steven Gerrard's Rangers pipped Celtic to the title by 25 points to stop the Parkhead club's last attempt.

If that had never occurred, Stuart Braithwaite, electric guitar player of Mogwai, reveals the Glasgow rockers were asked to help with the music to help complement a 'Sunderland Till I Die' type documentary-series.

Speaking as a guest on the Celtic Underground Podcast, Braithwaite said: "Can I tell you something? I have actually never told anyone this.

“We were asked, you know those like Sunderland Till I Die documentaries and all that kind of stuff... there was talk, and I don't know if this ever happened, but there was talk of their being a documentary about Celtic going for ten-in-a-row.

"And we obviously know how that ended up.

"We were in talks for doing the music.

“I don't know if they made it. They probably would have had to abandon it with COVID. Thank god. Can you imagine?

“But aye, we were really pissed about it because we were like ‘this is great, we will do that. This will be a jolly good laugh’.

“At the time we are thinking that we are probably going to get our tickets for free and, I dunno, free pies forever more.

“But it didn’t happen.”
