Scottish pub popular with national park visitors put up for sale

A SCOTTISH pub popular with visitors to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park has been put up for sale.

The Byre Inn, a dog-friendly pub in Callander, is a popular pub and restaurant known for its Sunday roasts.

The pub, which has been put up for sale through Christie & Co, also includes a modern, three bedroom owners’ apartment on the first floor as well as one acre of private land surrounding the property.

It has been operated by the same owners for 16 years, who are now looking to retire with the business well-placed to capture visitors and tourists looking to explore the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, sitting around seven miles west of Callander town centre.

Associate director at Christie & Co Tony Spence, who is handling the sale, commented: “Our clients have owned the property since 2008, however it is now available to purchase due to their desire to relocate and retire.

“The business would be well-suited to a couple, allowing them to keep costs low and grow the business going forward.

“There is a lot to do in the area, with walking and cyclin routes on the doorstep and a fantastic local market to capture with the right amount of advertising.”

The pub is being marketed at a freehold asking price of offers of more than £350,000.

Spence added: “The Byre Inn has generated a strong following on Facebook and has great reviews across Google and Tripadvisor.

“It is our opinion that the business is well-placed for growth under the right operator.”
