In-form striker Sam Dalby is expected to remain at Dundee United until the end of the season.
The Scottish Premiership's top goal scorer was given a well-earned rest as he started on the substitutes bench for United’s trip to Celtic on Wednesday night.
But the 25-year-old frontman did get introduced into the action for the final 30 minutes of the 2-0 loss at Celtic Park, providing a threat to the hosts' defence.
Manager Jim Goodwin has been desperate to retain the services of Dalby, who is on a season-long loan from English League 1 side Wrexham and has scored 10 times this season.

And during his post-match press conference, the Irishman gave the biggest indication yet that Dundee United's star man won't be leaving Tannadice prematurely.
He told BBC Scotland: "There's constant dialogue there between ourselves and Wrexham.
"Sam has been terrific, we believe he is going to stay here for the remainder of the season.
"There's still a lot of time left in the window but we have to take Wrexham at their word that Sam is going to stay here and continue his development."
On any potential incomings this month, Goodwin added: "Like every other team, we will be trying to do some business in the January window.
“It's a difficult window at the best of times anyways because there's a lack of players available.
"But we have identified one or two, who, hopefully, over the coming weeks we will be able to add to our squad."
