THE Scottish Parliament chamber has been evacuated amid reports of a fire.
After First Minister's Questions, the Presiding Officer told the chamber the room was to be cleared due to reports of a "fire in the area".
Following the final question in the chamber, Alison Johnstone told MSPs: "There has been a fire reported in this area.
"Visitors in the public gallery please follow the directions of security staff and evacuate to the public foyer immediately.
"People who require assistance to evacuate and those with a personal emergency evacuation plan requiring the use of a refuge point should move to the nearest available refuge point now."
It emerged soon afterwards that it was a test of the fire alarm.
